{"id":83,"date":"2012-03-18T18:43:00","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T18:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.insideout.io\/en\/?p=83"},"modified":"2012-03-18T18:43:00","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T18:43:00","slug":"toothing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.insideout.io\/en\/2012\/03\/18\/toothing\/","title":{"rendered":"Toothing at SXSW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Toothing<\/strong> was originally a hoax claim that <strong>Bluetooth-enabled<\/strong> mobile phones or PDAs were being used to arrange <strong>random encounters<\/strong><!--more-->\u2026today there are more\u00a0sophisticated\u00a0platforms if you\u2019re into casual meetings but bluetooth remains a quite interesting signal of our social universe.<\/p>\n<p>Here follows a quick overview of the devices I met more frequently (with my mobile phone) during my days in Austin while attending South By South West: on the Y-axis you\u2019ll find the <strong>RSSI<\/strong> (Received signal strength indication that tell us how close I\u2019ve been to other peers &#8211; the value has been normalized) and on the X-axis the <strong>timeline<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For sure the graph speaks clear about my undiscussed devotion for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/livinka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@livinka<\/a>\u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>The data has been gathered with the MIT\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/funf.media.mit.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FUNF Open Sensing Framework<\/a>\u00a0and you can play with the <a title=\"FUNF -
