More investments, more pitches and more funding were shown this year at RiseUp14:

From Networking, pitches, keynote speeches, Inspiring success stories, round table discussions, workshops, Trade Fair for startups and panel discussions the young startups were given the opportunity to be in touch with the entrepreneurial world, investors, mentors and top successful entrepreneurs from around the world for more funding and mentoring opportunities,

RiseUp14 took place this Year from 12 to 14 October at the Greek Campus at the American University in Tahrir Square.

This year the event included around 3,000 startup projects and 150 investors, drawing many high-profile public figures

The event kicked off on October 12 with a welcome speech by Abd El Hameed Sharara founder of RiseUp Egypt followed by sports competitions by Transforma and the amazing performance of Mostafa Hussein Band wich made the crowd very enthusiastic and energetic in this great atmosphere.

Then inspiring key notes speeches by Ahmed Gabr the man of the deepest dive in the World! He now has a place in the Guinness Book of Records with 350meters and Dr. Naif Mutawa, the creator of THE 99, the first group of comic superheroes born of an Islamic archetype

Event Highlights:

The 2 days packed event on October 13th and 14th was perfectly designed to connect Egyptian Startups with the top successful entrepreneurs, investors and mentors.

Representatives and delegations from 17 different countries participated at the RiseUp Summit this year.

The countries represented are from the UK, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey, Denmark, Tunisia, Morocco, Rwanda, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and India. The individuals and groups from these countries participated as a variety of different organizations including co-working spaces, investment funds, incubators and consultants

The event featured a mixture of keynotes:

The two days packed event featured several keynote speeches, successful entrepreneurs sharing there success stories on Enspire Talk Stage by Endeavor, startups showing their products and services in several booths by Injaz Egypt “Injaz Egypt Trade Fair”, a Speed Dating for startups bringing them together with potential cofounders through 15 minute conversations organized by Flat6Labs, as well as workshops, roundtables, debates, fireside Chats and many other activities.

On October 13th the start of the day was super strong with a very inspiring key note speech by Dave Mcclure sharing crucial advices and tips with the attendees.

Also a very interesting first panel discussions by MITEF Pan Arab “The Arab World Meets Silicon Valley” Moderated by Chris Schroeder and the panelists were Dave McClure, Fadi Ghandour, Hala Fadel and Ahmed al-Alfy” – All the panels discussions are available for viewing online here

InsideOut Today Participation:

InsideOut Today proudly provided for the 2nd consecutive year the live streaming service for the RiseUp Summit broadcasting the event to the world over the web to different devices and smart phones. It attracted more than 2,000 viewers to the live stream embedded on different websites.

InsideOut Today provided RiseUp with a turn-key solution that included the capturing devices, encoders and cloud streaming servers.

Besides live streaming we had different activities in RiseUp14:

1. Roundtable discussion: On October 13th InsideOut Today hosted a roundtable discussion at the RiseUp summit and we chose a complex topic that we witness online every day in Egypt “Impact of social networks in Egypt on media and news” Guests for this roundtable were media stars – Doha Al Zohairy presenter at Al Arabiya TV channel and also the social media influencers – Mahmoud Salem Award winning Blogger (Best ME blog in 2006, BOB Best English Blog in 2011) Guests shared their opinions and experience with the attendees and it was a really interesting discussion!

2. Workshop: On October 14th we had a very interesting workshop at the RiseUp summit “Content Marketing Innovations for Startups” at the workshop our CEO Fady Ramzy went through the journey of online content from understanding what is content marketing & its importance, to the latest innovations in content marketing, the art of story telling, understanding the new platforms such as scan media and augmented reality and understanding the CONTEXT and he presented some examples of innovative content check it here
